To save a tutorial for use with Klick-N-View Business Cards, click one of the links below and choose to Save the file to the Klick-N-View Business Cards Help folder, typically this will be
"C:\Program Files\Klick-N-View Business Cards\Help"
Once you save the file to the Klick-N-View Business Cards Help folder, the tutorials will be displayed

Once you purchase our program, you must download and install the "registered" program from our web
site. You can download the program from the Customer Area by
clicking here, you will need the username and
password you received with your purchase to download.
The download file is not the actual business cards program, it is an installation package
that will copy the program files to your hard disk. After downloading you need to open the downloaded file to start
the setup program and install your new software!
In most cases this problem is being caused by an external download manager. Try downloading using your
browser instead of the manager. For instructions on bypassing your download manager, please refer to the
documentation for your particular download manager software.
There is over 100MB of fonts, clip art and templates available for downloading. You can find everything
you need in our Customer Area by
clicking here, you will need the username and
password you received with your purchase for most of these downloads.
First, select the background image by clicking on it. Then press the Opacity button in the toolbox on
the left side of the design window to open the Adjust Opacity window. Move the slider until the
image is as light as you want it.
Hint: If you have a very dark image that still is not
light enough, make it as light as possible in the Adjust Opacity window, click OK, then open the Adjust
Opacity window a second time to make the image even lighter.
Yes! Press the Blank Card button at the bottom of the Select Template window to open the Page Layout
window. Then enter the dimensions of your card. If you are printing a one-page card, like a greeting card,
be sure to enter 1 Across and 1 Down in the "Number of Cards" section.
You can make adjustments to any open document by choosing File|Page Layout on the menu bar or by pressing
the Page Layout button on the main toolbar.
If your form has a gap between cards, you can enter a gap by choosing File|Adjust Print Alignment on the
menu bar.
Note: until the next release of KNV Business Cards, this gap applies to every document
printed and will need to be changed when using a form that does not have a gap. In the next release,
this will be saved with each document.
First, measure the size of your greeting card form, including margins. Next, start a new card by
selecting the template that you want to use. With your new card in the design window, choose File|Page
Layout on the menu bar or press the Page Layout button on the main toolbar. Enter the width and height
of your card form and the margins in the Page Layout window and click the OK button.
Once that is done, the design window will reflect the changes you made. You can then re-arrange the
graphics and text to fit your form.
Most of the time, the reason the text is being chopped off is because the text box is too small to
contain the printed text. Some TrueType fonts actually print larger than they appear on your
monitor display. To correct this, select your text by clicking it, then grab one of the black
rectangles on the text box border and drag the box to make it larger.
With printers that feed a single sheet of paper from a tray, the paper doesn't always feed through
consistently. You can make this better by ensuring that the paper guides are firmly against the
edges of the paper in the tray and by regularly cleaning the rollers that pull the paper from the tray.
Hint: Whenever possible (with documents that have only one form per page like greeting cards, for
example) it is better to make background graphics extend beyond the card edges; that will help correct
small variances in paper feeding.
If you have a color printer, the first thing to check is your printer setup by choosing
File|Print Setup on the menu bar then click the Properties button beside the printer name. Using the
setup software that came with your printer, make sure your printer is properly configured for color printing.
Some printers are not able to print the full range of colors that are displayed by a monitor and
may be contained in an image or in the selected text colors. If your printer is not able to print a color,
that color is replaced by one that is nearest to the unprintable color. This can result in
text and images that are distorted, grainy or the wrong color.
In some cases, especially with non-color printers, the nearest color may be either white or black,
in which case the image will have spots that are blank or completely black. You may be able to correct this by
editing the graphic image, changing it to black and white.
Some printer drivers do not support the method used by Klick-N-View Business Cards for printing
transparent graphics. In most cases, but not all, this limitation will be visible in print preview.
This is caused by the cards being outside of the printable page area. This is a physical limitation of your printer
and cannot be corrected by Klick-N-View Business Cards. In most cases, but not all, this limitation will be visible in print preview.
The speed in transferring information from Klick-N-View Business Cards to your printer depends solely upon
the buffering speed of your printer. For some printers, the slow-down occurs only with graphic images. Other
printers may be slow at all times. This is a physical limitation of your printer and cannot be corrected by Klick-N-View Business Cards.
When Windows is running a 256 color display driver, it reserves 20 colors for its own
use which lowers the available colors for image display to 236. Since Klick-N-View
Business Cards must be able to display multiple images in a single card, a common 256
color palette is used that alters the Windows palette. If the color in the image is not
in the palette, it is replaced by the color that is nearest to the missing color.
You may be able to correct the problem by changing text color selection and/or by
editing the graphic file to use the palette included with Klick-N-View Business Cards
("knv256.pal").
Distortions and graininess are usually caused by color dithering when running in a 256 color mode.
You may be able to correct the problem by changing text color selection and/or by
editing the graphic file to use the palette included with Klick-N-View Business Cards
("knv256.pal").
Print preview is a simulation of what is to be printed. Since this is a simulation,
Klick-N-View Business Cards can only approximate how your printer driver will respond
during the print process; the actual preview display on your monitor must be done using
your video driver.
This simulation process is like trying to show an orange by taking an apple, removing
the stem, roughing up the peel and painting it; while the simulation is close, it cannot be 100% accurate.
Any objects that are placed within the Business Card Canvas window will be printed. If
objects are placed outside of the card border displayed, these objects will be printed
as you see them in the window. To correct the problem, make sure that all objects are
contained within the card boundaries.
To locate all objects in the canvas window, with the window maximized, choose Edit|Select|All on the
menu bar. This will place a border around every object that exists in the canvas window.
Klick-N-View Business Cards uses a common 256 color palette that is loaded from a palette
file. Make sure that the palette file "knv256.pal" is in the same directory as the
program executable.
When working for long periods of time on one design or when working with large graphics
files, your PC may run short of memory. To help correct the problem try the following:
Close other Windows applications that are running.
Clear the Undo/Redo buffers.
Reduce the Undo/Redo buffer size or disable the Undo/Redo system.
Empty the clipboard.
If you still experience problems, you may be running an older version of Windows. If so, you might
want to consider upgrading your Windows software. You can download various Windows updates directly
from Microsoft. This site can help you determine what
updates are available for your computer.
The database file (KnvbPInfo.dat) is not part of the program package, it is created
on-the-fly when you create your first business card.
Once the database file has been deleted from your hard drive, the only way you can
correct the problem is to start building your database from scratch. NOTE: If
you have not emptied your recycle bin, you may be able to restore the file (if you
need help with restoring, just let us know).
To start rebuilding your database:
When you get the message "Unable to locate the database file KnvbPInfo.dat...Would
you like to locate this file yourself?", press the "No" button and a new database
file will be created using default information.
Any business cards that you have on your hard drive will display "Database
information not found!" for those fields that were added to your old database...
these fields will need to be deleted and then re-added to your card.
If you rebuilt your database file (see Unable to locate the database file),
any business cards that you have on your hard drive will display "Database
information not found!" for those fields that were added to your old database...
these fields will need to be deleted and then re-added to your card.
If you deleted a field from your database that is in use by another card you will
need to delete the "not found" field from the card and then re-added it.
